Illustration

All illustrations with the AgroKrag tag on them have come from our lead designer; Jesse Rand, so it makes the mot sense to let him tell you all about his work as he shows it.  Keep checking back because he loves to show off his latest creations.

About Jesse: Can’t say I never took a lesson or an Art class in my life, I took a lot of them.  Mostly because my father was a great artist who was never able to financially pursue his dream, therefore I became the vicarious son.  The work I do ranges all over the place though you will notice that 90% of it does contain a human figure of some kind.  I took to celebrity and athlete portraits as a teenager and it developed into an affinity for the human figure and all of its possibilities.  This skill translated into the ability to manipulate images in photoshop to look any way I wanted.  Recently the transition was made to all digital artwork, which no doubt has made my girlfriend happy, since the studio is now much cleaner.  It’s amazing what you can achieve with a digital pen tablet.  It speeds up the painting process ten fold and everything just looks to clean and beautiful.  I whole heartedly recommend using the Wacom Intuos Tablet and no I don’t work for them but this thing is a game changer.

I am going to leave the about me section alone now…  Enjoy the Work!  I will post as often as possible.

In Memory of College Days

In remembrance of the Art Department of Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH. Hard to believe it’s been so long now, but it has and I don’t miss it much. Today will mark my first day returning to the school in quite a while, so I wanted to pay a bit of tribute. This piece was sketched in class my senior year of my buddies girlfriend, needless to say it was awkward, but as you can tell from the drawing I didn’t mind… This is also something I have brought to the table as a designer at AgroKrag, being the guy who can draw up the ideas on the spot for clients has really propelled us into another level of firm. Plus I just love figure drawing, it’s just unfortunate that the work we do almost never requires figure drawing. But hey you’ve gotta have something to look forward to right?

As mentioned before I have a pen tablet and have really taken to painting in photoshop as of late.  So here is stage one of what in my head will become a pretty ridiculous send up of Friday the 13th.  As you can see Ellen Page, or as most people know her now as Juno, is posed in a running outfit.  Funny thing about the outfit is that it could easily double as a camp counselor outfit from the early 80’s.  So logically the background will feature a lake shore with a campfire surrounded by teenagers being terrorized by Jason Voorhees.  Will it come off stupid or clever? I don’t know but I think it would make a nice companion piece to the joke of a remake set to hit theaters this summer.

This will eventually be uploaded to my CGSociety portfolio.
